Best Yoga Studio - 2005
These days it seems like yoga is as trendy as the fall window displays at Neiman Marcus. Would you like to try Hot, Happy, Baby or Boga? Everyone's doing it -- or at least trying to market it. Yoga's image in Western minds has morphed from "some weird cult" to "the latest thing." Hip hotels and clothing designers are redefining yoga as a "lifestyle." Whatev. While her sweet studio, YogaSource, is just two years old, Chris Yonker has seen it all evolve -- she's been a fixture on the St. Louis yoga scene for at least two decades. She has the deep intuition and strength of a great teacher, and her no-nonsense style is full of humor. A class with Chris or any of the other teachers at YogaSource is a perfect fit for the total beginner, expectant mother or type-A hot yoga fanatic. There are two studios (one is kept at a warmer temperature for those sweat-inducing Power Vinyasa classes), as well as private massage rooms and a full-service retail store for all of your yoga accessory needs. Do yoga. St. Louis will be an even better place.
