The Scottish Arms
The apostle Paul offered an opinion about those who drink lots of beer and eat lots of food: "Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things." But if we're headed to Gluttony in a handbasket, we're going via the Scottish Arms. Fish and chips, crisp and flaky (vinegar for ours, thanks); mince ?n' tatties (that's beef and potatoes to you); and cock-a-leekie (chicken breast, leeks, cream). After an evening of indulgence at the Arms, our bellies have been known to swish like a bucket in a hurricane. Theirs is the food of kings, queens, popes and landlords—you know: sinners.
