Best Bowling Shirts - 2006
When the RFT's editorial department needed team shirts for our bowling squad, we knew just where to get 'em: Cruisin USA. This haberdashery, discreetly tucked in a mini-industrial park in the upper-right-hand corner of University City, boasts an online presence that's more in keeping with its spacious warehouse and ample inventory, but locals can walk right into the showroom and order custom-screened and -embroidered bowlingwear. Robbie Spetner and his crew are ready, willing and eager to outfit bowlers and retro-style mavens alike in a wide range of styles, colors and materials, including some sexy little silk numbers that, sad to say, were a little beyond our budget. Which is not to say that these shirts are anywhere near out of reach, because they're anything but: You're talking prices starting around $20 for blank shirts and $40 for custom screen printing. Full disclosure: We haven't, ahem, actually taken our Editorial shirts out bowling yet at least not as a team. But we're known to sport 'em around town whenever making a fashion statement is called for.
