She shouts, she screams, she swings from totally bossy to warm and sweet, but Staci Static always commands your attention when she steps up to the mic on Hot 104.1, one of St. Louis' two competing hip-hop stations. Static used to host the 7-to-10-p.m. slot on Q 95.5 FM, where her dedicated fan base, which skewed heavily female, called in for advice, which she dished with defiant attitude and maternal love. When Q95 changed formats, Static landed on 104.1, where she controls the mic daily from 2 till 7 p.m. (8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday), ruling drive time like the Queen of the Highway.
