Steve Schankman
As founder and president of Contemporary Productions, Steve Schankman had a hand in bringing countless national acts to perform in St. Louis. After SFX Entertainment (to whom he'd sold the company in 1998) was acquired by goliath Clear Channel Communications in 2000, Schankman decided to go it alone again and revived the Contemporary Productions moniker. Today Schankman concentrates on producing special events and marketing for clients like Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Cirque du Soleil. But he's keeping a hand in the concert game via his Clayton restaurant, Finale, which features smooth jazz in a supper-club setting. A fine trumpet player in his own right, Schankman has been known to take the stage at Finale ? the ultimate mix of business and pleasure.
