Main Street Jazz & Blues

Readers' Choice: Pop's
Despite the name, Main Street Jazz & Blues is not dedicated solely to jazz and blues. Earlier this year the Belleville club hosted a weekly show featuring another American-birthed music—hip-hop—and paid a steep price for it. In March police swarmed Main Street during a set by the Fu Fops; though Chief Dave Reubhausen cited suspicions that armed gang members were on the premises, no firearms were found. In the aftermath, owner Neal Connors sold the club. We're pleased to report that Main Street soldiers on under new management that remains committed to bringing quality live music to Belleville. Even if you're not there for the sounds, Main Street Jazz & Blues remains a great place to grab a pint of Schafly at the bar and complain about the Man.
