When historians look back on American eating habits of the late-20th and early-21st centuries, who will they consider the era's most influential culinary figure? Not Mario or Emeril or (thank God) Bobby Flay. Our money's on Homer Simpson. While a select few enjoy the benefits of America's foodie revolution, the rest of us get fatter and fatter — and enjoy every second of it. Homer's our hero, shamelessly drooling over the glories of beer, pork and, of course, doughnuts. The peak of Homer-gastronomy must be Baseball's Best Burger at GCS Stadium. It's a bacon cheeseburger served on a sliced, lightly grilled Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut. The bacon cheeseburger is tasty by itself; the doughnut adds a dash of sweetness and even more luscious fat. Should you eat the whole thing? Probably not. Gluttony isn't good for you, after all. But for the first few bites, at least, it tastes great.
