McLozzi Deli & Marketplace

Here's a good rule of thumb: Don't trust a deli that doesn't make a good sandwich. McLozzi Deli & Marketplace — named for its location at the corner of McNair Avenue and Pestalozzi Street in Benton Park — makes a damn good sandwich. Several of them, in fact, including a delicious grilled Italian cold-cut sandwich and the "Gobbler," a turkey-cranberry sauce-stuffing-cream cheese concoction so good you'll want to celebrate Thanksgiving year-round. Want to build a great sandwich of your own? McLozzi provides the meats and cheeses as well as the sides and gooey butter cake you need to make a terrific meal. You can eat in McLozzi's cozy environs, but you'll be tempted to grab a six-pack of beer or a bottle of wine from the small-but-nice selection and have a picnic in your back yard.

BEST sandwiches I have ever had!! we are visiting St Louis from San Jose, someone told us to go to McLozzi's, so we took a cab from Downtown to McLozzi's. tried their Cuban Sandwich...out of this world!!! I have never had one of those before. The next day we went out there again and the little guy told us to try the Comfort sandwich, I was alittle ify about trying it becasuse meatloaf is not one of my favorites. But I sure am glad I tried it! I also had to sneak in a Cuban again and we shared a McLozzi. Sandwiches are tasty, fresh and addicting. Wish they were closer to San Jose!!!

We stopped in before a Cubs/Cards game. Great sandwiches and the perfect place to grab lunch before the Cubs beat the Cardinals.

McLozzi's is the best kept secret south of Highway 40! I am proud to say I ate the first Gobbler sandwich at McLozzi's and have had many, many more! It is great to see the dream come true for Dan and Mark. Buona Fortuna!!!!
