While the food may be excellent, understand that the staff is over-worked and under-paid. The owners do not pay their employees in a timely fashion, do not pay those employees all of the tips they earn, and do not pay them overtime. Next time you dine there, just ask any member of the staff-- and then decide if the place is worth your patronage.
Best Dining Concept St. Louis 2007 - Veritas Gateway to Food and Wine
We absolutely love Veritas. We have enjoyed some great dinners there on Thursday nights at the wine bar. The crowd is a mix of friendly people who seem to be enjoying a night out in a casual but very top notch spot. Our 22 year old daughter met a group of friends there recently and had a wonderful experience, enjoying a dinner of small plates, sharing lots of new things and getting a mini course in wine pairings.
