Readers' Choice: The Pasta House Co.
Forget for a moment that Guido's cooks up some of the best, most authentic Spanish dishes in town. (It's hard, we know. Try hypnosis, if necessary.) The Carreteros may originally be from Madrid, but they happen to serve pasta dishes as tasty as just about anything you'll find on the Hill tasty and cheap. A dish of spaghetti is $5.50 (meatballs extra), lasagna $6.50 and carbonara (made with pancetta) only $7.25. And there's good reason why this place is called Guido's Pizzeria & Tapas: The thin-crust pizza is terrific. A medium with one topping (we like basil) is more than enough for two people and a steal at $8.25. Still not able to forget the tapas? No one said you can't order from both sides of the menu.
