The Minneapolis-based franchise chain specializes in buying and selling the kind of stuff that kids outgrow — skates, cleats, pads, helmets. That means Play It Again is also great for adults who dabble. Is the company softball team really worth a brand-new glove? The Glendale store aims to please. Much of the stock is new, so even if you don't get a deal, you're less likely to waste a trip. Not into throwing, catching or hitting things? Play It Again also stocks Rollerblades, weights, treadmills and yoga mats. Now nine years old, the Glendale store has a companion in Fairview Heights, Illinois, and a competing franchisee is opening a new store in St. Peters.
