With the 21st-century renovations to its 19th-century building pretty much complete, BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups retains its title as St. Louis' blues headquarters, a seven-nights-a-week hub of activity for local music lovers, tourists and musicians alike. BB's continues to offer an impressive variety of touring blues bands and local and regional blues and jazz performers, and the newly expanded stage, second-floor seating and balcony add up to an improved experience for both audience and musicians. (The extra wall space also provides room to display more of the club's extensive collection of blues memorabilia.) While there certainly are other worthy contenders for the designation of Best Blues Club, BB's remains the essential St. Louis blues music experience.
