this is a blast from the past.I had seen bars come and go the "litter box" Kit Kat Club, Jan's Stoaway, Circus...way back. This bar was great. Will have to make my way over and see if it still is.
Best Lesbian Bar - 2008
Drag shows. Free darts and pool on Wednesdays, $2 beers all night on Tuesdays. The go-to watering hole for generations of the St. Louis gay/lesbian/transgender community. Despite its longevity, Attitudes ain't no stuffy old museum of queer culture. The old girl still vibrates with hip-hop and a diverse spectrum of lesbian clientele, from the urban to the old-school Melissa Etheridge T-shirt-wearing crowd. And make no mistake: Attitudes welcomes all comers. Especially if you like to dance.
I agree with Terry. My friends and I prefer Attitudes. It's a very welcoming environment, the bartenders actually know their customers (not just their friends), bar service is quick even when it's crazy packed, the music is always fun (not just the same thing over and over), the weekdays are relaxing, and their aren't a lot of cliques--everybody seems to get along, and none of their employees talk bad about other bars (which I see all the time from other places). All-in-all, I think this was their year! Congrats Attitudes! And Congrats on 20 years!
i disagree with jessica. attitudes is a great bar and i always have fun there. i'm not going to be as low brow as to talk trash on other bars, but attitudes is definitely my scene. just because it's not yours, don't hate. congrats attitudes! you deserve it!!
Really RFT? Attitudes? Maybe the only "lesbians" who voted for the best "lesbian bar" were the underage little emo girls and boys who they let in on the weekends. I'm sure if you took a legit poll in St. Louis Novaks would win by a landslide. Attitudes is dirty, smoky and shady. Novak has a gorgeous bar, clean and a beautiful, relaxing patio not to mention excellent food. There is no comparison. Get it right.
