Best Local Website

Readers' Choice: St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The eponymously named website Keaggy.com is for everyone who has stared too long at an object on the street while at a stoplight. In other words, it's for most of us. Compiled by Bill Keaggy, a curious collector and St. Louisan who amasses photographs of everyday objects, keaggy.com and its founder were profiled in these pages earlier this year. Almost twenty years after the Internet connected household PCs to the world, each city now has its own news/entertainment/sports website, but fewer communities have a site as deeply ordinary yet original as Keaggy's. For every St. Louisan who can distinguish the leaves from the forest, the collections on keaggy.com document evidence of life here with a dry sense of humor, notably in his online collection "Crap I found on the street during the month of May."
