With all due respect to the robin, we have another candidate for first sign of spring: the inaugural al fresco meal at Sasha's Wine Bar and Market. As soon as the mercury breaks 70 degrees, we snag a seat on this picture-perfect patio. The thoughtful wine list — with a broader and deeper by-the-glass selection than most other places in town — makes Sasha's an ideal destination for leisurely drinking. But make sure not to ignore the menu: The fare here is a wonderful complement to the wine and beer selection. Many of the dishes are meant to be shared, such as the superb smoked trout, or the excellent cheese and charcuterie plates. Savory crêpes are packed with topnotch ingredients (prosciutto, fontina, height-of-the-season vegetables), and sweet crêpes are a don't-miss indulgence. The view's great, too — whether you're admiring Concordia Seminary's rolling green space or checking out St. Louis' landed gentry as they traipse into Jimmy's on the Park next door.
