Atomic Cowboy
Any place can make a good cocktail, but Atomic Cowboy is expert at serving up cool cocktails. The surroundings certainly help: This bar's interior and exterior decorating elements — vintage furniture and exposed brick indoors and the Quonset hut and fire pit out back — work together to set quite a scene for all manner of fun and ballyhoo, from live bands to outdoor festivals and from burlesque acts to weekly comedy nights. Even if it's not comedy night, the junior high kid in all of us can definitely get a laugh when requesting a Banana Hammock (a tropical cocktail), the Dirty Girl Scout (a minty shot) or a Horny Manzana (a gin drink). And while the Cowboy definitely likes to have some fun, serious drinkers should note that it's not all silliness here. The bartenders are quite capable of serving up a mean manhattan or a potent rusty nail with the best of 'em. Plus, there's house-infused sangria (white and red), boozy coffee drinks, a decent beer list and much more (all of which is just so very cool).
