Best Place to Play PinballCP Pinball
Just a 30-minute drive from St. Louis, in a little town called South Roxana, next to the Shell Industrial plant, stands pinball heaven. CP Pinball doesn't look like much from the outside. It's in a quiet neighborhood and doesn't sport any big, neon signs. But once you're through the front door, you know you've come to the right place. Packed into the one-room arcade you'll find old-school and newer games, including Dirty Harry, Pirates of the Caribbean and Machine: Bride of Pin•Bot — all in great shape, ready for play. The greatest part? After you fork over a $10 entry fee, it's free play. If your arcade preferences tilt (ha!) toward golden-age video stuff like Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong and Galaga, they've got that too. But make no mistake: At CP's, it's really all about the silver ball. The bad news? CP is only open on Friday and Saturday of the third weekend of the month, from 6 p.m. to midnight. Call to make sure the game's on, or sign up for the e-mail list.
