The name is both a description and a revelation. There is nothing fancy about this small north-county restaurant. Blink as you're driving Florissant's commercial drag, and you certainly will miss it. A shame, because here, in a dining room that offers paper napkins and no booze, you will find dishes more complex, more flavorful and — if you desire — hotter than at any of St. Louis' many other Thai restaurants. The menu offers more than 100 selections, but you can't go wrong with the curries: The green is pungent, and you could spend hours teasing out all the flavors in the cashew-studded massaman. Of course you will love the tangy, spicy tom yum and the tom kha soups, but consider a bowl of gang jued tofu soup with ground pork or chicken. The flavors are clear and bright. A simple dish, simply delicious.
