How do you like your theater? Do you like it high-flying or lowbrow? In your face or coolly sophisticated? Circus Flora has all the above. Are you looking for educational programs that encourage the participation of students? They've got it. Do you want a company that offers a track record of solidity? Circus Flora has been entertaining St. Louis audiences every spring for 22 years. And though its namesake, Flora the elephant, is now grazing in a sanctuary in Tennessee, the gentle bonhomie that she brought to the proceedings still provides this one-ring circus with its imprimatur. And it's all done on the most intimate terms. Someone once described a poem as "the shortest distance between you and the subject." By that definition, what a viewer experiences every June under the small big top at Circus Flora is theatrical poetry.
