Mean Street

The fact that Mean Street guitarist Chuck Reusnow can play Eddie Van Halen's shredderific masterpiece "Eruption" note for note is impressive enough, but when you take into account the fact that this is the first band he has ever played a proper show with it seems all the more impressive and unlikely. Riding on the shoulders of local cover band-circuit veteran and lead singer Tony Ingracia, Mean Street brings a high-energy, three-hour-marathon of a show that pays homage to the early years of Van Halen from the opening bass guitar pulse of "Runnin' With the Devil" to the synthesizer sheen of 1984's "Jump." But Mean Street's true appeal lies in the fact that the band is all about the music and leaves sticky inner-band politics and drama to the real VH.
