I went to Mangia with an open mind and an empty belly ready to try the best of 2009 calamari. To my surprise, the calamari was hot, fresh, and filled with a light spice. But there was one element that was not given enough credit in the article that I loved, the tomato sauce served with the calamari. The sauce was so good that I ordered a blt pizza and used it as a dipping sauce. For anyone who loves red sauces as much as I do, I would definitely recommend ordering a small side of it to dip the night away.
