Skip and I talked "shop" for hours------I have learned a lot from him-----he really should write a book-----his knowledge on guitar and bass pickup construction alone would fill up a large sized book.....

Skip Goez isn't your typical music store in the sense of vast selection, screaming deals on shimmery new merchandise or the sound of novice ax-wielders hammering out their latest guitar-tab conquests. It is, however, a terrific little store boasting hard-to-find gems in the form of vintage electric and acoustic guitars and classic tube amplifiers. But not even that tells the whole story. Goez's shop really shines with its service department (which, fittingly, takes up about 75 percent of the small space). Great guitar players from all over the city know that Skip's is the place to take their beloved six-strings for tender loving care at a very reasonable rate.

Skip restored a Gibson ES-350 (1954)-------and since I live in Santa Fe,NM------I have many musicians lining up to make arrangements to talk to him(Skip) so they can get him to rebuild their instruments---Steve
The article is really accurate.......they work on a lot of pros from the touring groups on a regular basis.......amazing shop .......total restoration of any guitar is an amazing art and takes a lot of knowledge and passion........they have all of that and more
