As the story goes, Fleet Feet Sports owner David Spetnagel got the urge to open his first shop after a trip to another store for some racing flats resulted in some looks and remarks that seemed to say, "You don't belong here!" Now, with three locations of his own, staffed with the friendliest running enthusiasts in town, he's doing as much for the upstart looking for a first pair of kicks to start pounding the pavement as he is for the more seasoned runner looking for the lightest possible shoes to bang out sub-three-hour marathons. From the race timing to free summer speed-work sessions, a runner's club and even a racing team filled with every possible level of runner in every possible age group, Fleet Feet ensures that while you might never run like Steve Prefontaine, you can still feel like a champ.
