This charming site atop the bluffs north of Alton provides sweeping views of the Mississippi River rolling slowly along some 100 feet below. On clear days, you can even see the Gateway Arch off in the distance to the south. Better, though, is to arrive just before dusk to catch the sun setting over Old Man River.
