Veggie burgers — especially if they're vegan — generally aren't feisty. They're docile, meek creatures that prefer to coast on their healthy attributes. (In dating parlance, you might say they "have a great personality.") Sweet Art's vegan Sweet Burger, on the other hand, is a rebel. A wheat bun cradles a fat tomato slice, fresh lettuce and a crumbly patty made from, among other ingredients, lentils, onions and carrots. Thanks to a blend of spices — including but not limited to cayenne pepper, cumin and cinnamon — the burger delivers a subtle but sassy kick. And that ain't the only oomph: Sweet Art's special sauce looks like an innocent tartar sauce (one of its ingredients is Vegenaise) but dashes of cayenne pepper and red onion bring the heat. A ripe slice of avocado and a dollop of cheese (the latter is available in vegan or non-) provide depth. The Sweet Burger's naturally fiery personality makes it quite a catch.
