No. 30 Soulard

A ridiculous number of St. Louis icons are located along bus route No. 30. Launching from the St. Charles Rock Road MetroLink station, you glide east past the Griot Museum of Black History, St. Louis Park and Crown Candy Kitchen. Then you head south to the North 14th Street mall, the Washington Avenue nightclub strip, the central branch of the St. Louis Public Library (look left for views of the Gateway Arch!), Soldiers Memorial, Scottrade Center and Soulard Farmers' Market. Smell the beer? That's the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, and now you're due west, past Benton Park, the South Grand strip, Tower Grove Park and last but not least, River Des Peres, before halting at the Shrewsbury MetroLink terminal. It's north side and south side. It's raw and it's real. And trust us on this one: You'll never find a more comprehensive chauffeured tour of the Gateway City for just $2 a ride. Intrepid out-of-towners and long-time locals alike should take note.
