Taste by Niche
The drink menu at Taste by Niche is a living, breathing thing. Literally. Its name is Ted. That's Ted Kilgore, to be precise, the mixologist whose whims and inspirations alter Taste's cocktail selection frequently and whose rapid cocktail-shaking is the constant backbeat of an evening at Taste. Kilgore has gained national recognition for his work: Bon Appétit magazine named Taste one of the country's ten best new cocktail bars; it singled out Kilgore's "Grey Fizz," which mixes gin, vermouth infused with Earl Grey tea, lemon and egg whites. His drinks can be playful, such as the "In a Pickle" (gin with cucumber, lime, dill and St. Germain) or dangerous ("Blood Brothers," created for Cinco de Mayo, included tequila and mezcal along with orange juice, vermouth and mole bitters). Maybe the coolest Taste by Niche experience is when his cocktails are spontaneous. Talk with Kilgore, tell him what you like (or think you might like) and with his imagination and encyclopedic cocktail knowledge, he will mix up something sure to blow your mind.
