Though the Land of Goshen Community Market is often referred to simply as the Edwardsville farmers' market, the official name is more than apt. The market feels like a community gathering. That's due in large part to the setting: smack in the heart of downtown Edwardsville. And the crowds that throng North Main and St. Louis streets every Saturday from 8 a.m. till noon from May through October can make it feel as if the whole town has turned out. Who can blame them? Produce from vendors like Biver Farms and Donnybrook Farm is outstanding, and you'll find much, much more, including baked goods and local honey. But this market is about more than just food. There are artisan crafts to suit almost any taste: pottery, jewelry, artwork. This market is a welcome weekly reminder that the Land of Goshen could easily be known as the Land of Plenty.
