You failed to mention that Barrister's is actually kind of a regular bar for happy hours...and it has nothing to do with soccer.

Unless you work as a lawyer, businessman or investor, Clayton ain't much of a neighborhood. But Barrister's — located in the heart of St. Louis' white-collar world — doesn't need permanent residents to create a community atmosphere. It has soccer instead. Scarves and insignia for a dozen different European clubs define the décor. During the World Cup, Barrister's was the official headquarters for supporters of the Netherlands. One wall is dedicated to the current standings for the English Premier League. Beyond the love for the beautiful game, the bar boasts a quality beer selection and serves some of the best pub grub around. The menu highlights are a shepherd's pie (filled with beef, mushrooms, veggies and gravy) and brunch items that are served every Saturday and Sunday morning — the prime viewing time for European soccer. Because nothing says "neighbors" like a bar full of people plowing through platters of biscuits and gravy, sipping hair-of-the-dog beers and cheering wildly for two teams playing 3,000 miles away.
