The Carondelet Park Rec Complex is the coolest YMCA compound in the greater St. Louis area and, without a doubt, the best public pool experience the city has to offer. Indoor pool? Check. Outdoor pool? Check. Awesome twisty spiral water slide? Double check (they have them both indoor and out). And while it's time to accept the hard truth that summer is officially over, that's an easier reality to grasp when you realize that swimming isn't limited to the sunny summer months. Though the outdoor pool is closed in the colder months — the lazy river, deck chairs and concession stand all going into hibernation — summertime springs eternal inside at the Rec Comlex.
