The Breaks
The Breaks did not enter St. Louis music meekly. The band's debut EP is brash, straightforward guitar rock delivered at breakneck speed. And that's nothing compared to the live show. There, the band proves it can command a rock club with as much nerve as it does a recording booth, and you can watch guitarist Sean Gartner tease out twitchy melodies and screeching solos. If you're looking for reference points, let's say it wasn't a huge surprise when it was revealed that the Breaks would be playing songs by the Strokes at this year's An Under Cover Weekend. Currently developing through some member adjustments, this band continues to win the fan base it so richly deserves.
