Coffee Cartel
It takes patience, moxie and balls to work at Coffee Cartel. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, these guys have seen it all. From the grouchy early-morning commuters jonesing for that first cup of coffee to the drunken hoards rushing the doors for snackage after the bars close to the — for lack of a better word — interesting characters who wander in at 4 a.m., it's all going on at this busy shop. Like a well-oiled machine, the eclectic crew switches gears from food prepping to latte making to payment taking, and they do it all with a smile. They're masters of the customer compliment ("Cool shirt," "Cute kid," "Awesome piercing!"), and despite the number of people that come through on a normal day, they're great at recognizing repeat customers. We know we can put you through a lot, Coffee Cartel, but, day and night, you guys have St. Louis coming back for more, which is why you all are the best.
