But each summer when Circus Flora floods Grand Center with its candy-red big-top tents, tinny carnival music and the aroma of popcorn and cotton candy, the performers do more than entertain. They transform, taking guests back to a simpler time when entertainment meant more than gazing at a screen. The breathtaking acrobatics of the Saint Louis Arches combined with unicycling families, fearless, tightrope-walking pros and the incomparable Nino the Clown are enough to amaze any child, whether they're four years old or forty.
