Once Mario Kart and Mario Golf for Nintendo 64 came along, kids seemed to forget all about the joys of lifting an actual putter or risking bodily harm behind the wheel of a sputtering go-kart. There's no better way to remind them of all the real-world fun they're missing than by taking them to Swing-A-Round Fun Town in Fenton, where the lovely miniature golf courses happen to look a whole lot like the video game come to life. Geysers shoot up out of the water obstacles in electric-blue hues, the grass is a wholly unnatural kelly green, and it looks like a tiny Princess Peach could be hiding in the spires of the candy-colored castle that rises from the center of the course. Swing-A-Round features three — yes, three — courses in one amusement park, all at a comfortably casual par three. If that's not enough to satisfy the kiddies, there are those go-karts, boats, batting cages and — if they must return to their screens — a video arcade inside as well.
