http://www.club21rock.com Located in Arnold, 21 Rock Bar and Grill is surrounded by thick forests, farmland, and not a whole lot else. 21 Rock has been around for thirteen years and includes a spacious stage and dance floor, six pool tables and the "best priced drinks in Jefferson County" within 3500 square feet. Although it used to be a rough biker bar, and still a stop on many bikers' run, regulars promise 21 Rock is safe and comfortable. (Just think of those big, tough bikers with hearts of gold and "MOM" tattooed prominently on their biceps.) In fact, 21 Rock was the top donor for the March of Dimes three years in a row and regularly participates in other charity events. Friday night is ladies (and gentlemen) night at 21 Rock, with $10 rail and drafts. They also have regular bucket specials -- and famous hot wings. Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>
Bambino's Restaurant and Bar is located on Commerce Drive, just off the outer road of I-55 and Vogel Road in Arnold. But even though Bambino's large outdoor patio overlooks the highway, it somehow still achieves the relaxing feel of a private wooded winery. Along with a long list of imported wines, beers and liquors, Bambino's specializes in Italian food. To top off Bambino's large portions at decent prices, happy hour is weekdays from 2 to 6 p.m.; you can get select appetizers for half off, $2 domestics and $3.75 rail mixers. Along the charming brick-paved street of Mississippi Avenue in Crystal City is Crystal Tavern, a bar that has been around for more than 60 years. With bands covering songs by the Black Eyed Peas and Ke$ha on the weekends, Crystal Tavern is the self-proclaimed contemporary "place to be in Jefferson County." There's no cover charge here, but there is a great happy hour: From 3-6 p.m. weekdays, longnecks are just $2 and drafts, $1.25. The folks at Crystal Tavern know how to take care of their customers -- they tout Crystal City's 24-hour taxi service and plentiful hotels. Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>
http://www.dylanssportsbar.com With karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights, Dylan's gets so packed, it's almost hard to maneuver around all the elated people in the room. Although throughout the week Dylan's sees a variety of different people, the weekends belong to tipsy twenty-somethings screaming along to N'Sync's "Bye Bye Bye." Even when it's crowded, Dylan's has a friendly, welcoming vibe; the staff seems to enjoy being here people-watching just as much as their patrons. Dylan's offers 22 brands of beer and happy hour on weekdays from 4-7 p.m., with cheap appetizers and buckets of beer for $13.50. Because there is a separate non-smoking section attached to the main room, Dylan's is continuing to allow smoking, even with the county's new ban. Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>
http://www.kautionband.com Serving the hard-working residents of uptown High Ridge, the Hot Spot has created a haven for the laborer who wants to forget his troubles for an hour or a few. It's a place to give in to vices like cigarettes, ice-cold beer and public displays of revelry. The karaoke and open mic nights here, smoothly run by owner/resident rocker Michael Lynne, attract the recreational performers who save their hidden talents to entertain their buddies at this self-proclaimed nightclub. Bellied up to the bar, celebrating a birthday with a group at a table or playing pool -- all in attendance take the time to show appreciation for the gutsy displays. The newly introduced menu, served until 1:00 a.m. through a diner-like 'pick-up window,' has made the bar's retro snack machines (still stocked with alcohol-absorbing treats) obsolete. But after ten years in business, many visitors continue to quote the t-shirts that hang above the bar: "Meet Me at the Hot Spot." Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>
