  • Halo Bar

    Halo Bar

6161 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112
    314-726-1414

http://www.thepageant.com/halobar/ This Loop bar's greatest asset is that it's inside the Pageant -- making Halo Bar a guaranteed hot spot for afterparties (and for local DJs, who entertain would-be concertgoers who couldn't get tickets). Performances by some of the city's best local bands immediately following Pageant shows have become a big attraction, and a long, well-stocked bar means that nights here often go strong right up until the 3 a.m. closing time. Halo Bar is only open Wednesday through Saturday nights, plus nights when the Pageant has a show. There's plenty of seating for large groups, so don't hesitate to bring a friend or twelve. • Horseshoe House

    Horseshoe House

6100 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112
    314-862-6700

http://www.h2horseshoehouse.com H2 in the East Loop does two things: horseshoes (the specialty of our neighbor to the north, Springfield, Illinois) and hookah. We won't extol the virtues of overdosing on cheese sauce and then indulging in flavored tobacco (we're not sure there are any), but the basement hookah lounge is a cozy place to spend an evening. The spic-and-span space opened in late February but didn't get its liquor license 'til March 22. Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>

The In Spot Dessert Bar & Lounge

5854 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112
    314-454-6969

http://www.inspotlounge.com Quietly situated in an unassuming building along Delmar Boulevard, just east of Hodiamont Avenue, hides the In Spot Dessert Bar & Lounge. The In Spot provides a warm, hip atmosphere laced with jazz and lounge music on Thursday through Sunday nights. Their small-plate menu features shareable items such as raspberry hot wings, Cajun catfish nuggets, chipotle sweet-potato fries and a variety of flatbread melts and pizzas. The sweeter side of their menu is highlighted by their creamy martini sips, combinations of Italian ice cream and liqueur. Flavors include caramel amaretto, coffee and vanilla, and the RumChata sip with RumChata Caribbean rum and Kahlua. A parking lot behind the building is available in addition to street parking. • Moonrise Hotel

    Moonrise Hotel

6177 Delmar Blvd. St Louis, MO 63112
    314-721-1111

http://www.moonrisehotel.com If there's one thing Joe Edwards is king of -- you know, apart from the entire Loop -- it's opening damn fine establishments like Moonrise that sling booze into the small hours. At Moonrise, you'll be drinking next to high rollers, pro-sports dudes and those stunning females who don't seem to exist in the world the rest of us inhabit. The bartenders may look like irredeemable hipsters, but they know cocktails and really aren't any more pretentious than the next guy. Add a stunning view of the city and the occasional run-in with Pageant headliners, and you've got one of our favorite places for an al fresco sip. Read more about this St. Louis bar or club >>
