FoodWire: New Chef, Menu for Brandt's Café

Delmar Loop institution Brandt's Café (6525 Delmar Boulevard; Web site) has a new executive chef, Ben Welch. Welch, a graduate of Johnson & Wales culinary school in Charleston, South Carolina, has worked at Emeril Lagasse's NOLA restaurant and, locally, at the late Blue Water Grill. Brandt's new menu features cold and hot small plates: tuna carpaccio, sliders, roasted duck breast and more.
