Maybe you'll drag yourself from the bed to the couch, camping out in the A/C for as long as possible while waiting for Friday night to dissipate.
Or maybe you'll leap out of bed early to hit the farmers' markets before the rush, scoring some killer peaches and blackberries or one of those wacky orange heirloom watermelons.
If you're in the latter camp, chances are you'd like to spend your evening supporting one of those local farms and market mainstays EarthDance Farms
. This Saturday, July 31, from 6 p.m. until the wee hours, EarthDance will take over the Duck Room in Blueberry Hill
(6504 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-727-4444) for FARMS Rock!
Think of it as St. Louis' own version of Farm Aid. For $25 (advance) or $30 (door), you get seven local bands, including the Dogtown Allstars and Celia's Big Rock Band. Plus there are raffles featuring a grab bag of prizes from other local organizations and business that further EarthDance's mission of Food, Art, Relationships, Music, and Sustainability. Acronyms, much like farms, rock.
It's Saturday -- what are your plans?
