For the 25th year, Farm Aid combined music, agriculture and food, this time in Milwaukee. USA Today covered the festival, emphasizing its support of family farms. Performer Jason Mraz said, "This is the one concert (and) cause that affects everybody. This is about our food. Farm Aid reminds us that our food is our life."
How about a side of flu with that? The New York Times reports - surprise - more than 60 percent of restaurant workers don't miss work when they're sick. Not because they want to be the next Typhoid Mary, but because of a lack of health insurance and sick leave. The news appears in a new report called "Serving While Sick", published by Restaurant Opportunities Centers United.

No word on if executive director of the Washington State Potato Commission Chris Voigt will be dining solo while he eats 20 potatoes a day for 60 days. According to the Seattle Times Voigt is tired of potatoes having an unhealthy rep. To prove they do a body good, he's going to get his 2200 daily caloric intact via 100-calorie potatoes in all forms - dehydrated, chips, and frozen - but without the nutritional enhancement of non-potato ingredients.
