Tucci & Fresta's Trattoria & Bar
opened this week at 15 North Central Avenue in Clayton, the address vacated
this May. Kim Tucci
and Joe Fresta
are the eponymous owners of the new venture. You know them as the co-founders of the Pasta House Co.
Tucci & Fresta's is decidedly more upscale than the Pasta House, with a few entrées even priced at or near $40.
The dinner menu features a fairly standard array of pastas (Bolognese, pomodoro, carbonara, a couple of risottos), steaks, chops (lamb, pork and veal) and veal and chicken dishes, including veal marsala and "speidini di pollo al Siciliano." There are four seafood dishes, including two variations on shrimp scampi.
Pastas range from $13-$16; entrées range anywhere from $18 to $30 for a grilled veal chop to $38 and $40 for a bone-in rib-eye steak and filet respectively. The lunch menu is briefer, with pasta and sandwiches.
Tucci & Fresta's is open for dinner Monday through Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. Lunch hours, which begin Monday, September 12, are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 314-725-6588 for more info.
