World Food Day Commemoration @ The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
St. Louisans are invited to help make 500,000 meals for Sub-Saharan Africa individuals in need during a global effort to increase awareness, understanding and action to alleviate hunger. Take a bite out of global hunger and malnutrition by signing up on The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center web site to help out in one-hour packaging shifts. Donation amounts to participate are $10 per student and $20 per adult. Afterwards, check out the "Bringing Science to Life" exhibit and tour the Danforth Center to learn about how it strives to preserve the planet through plant science. Entre Mobile stop @ Operation Food Search
Visit Entre mobile, the Entre food truck that evolved from St. Louis's first underground restaurant, as it makes a stop in the Operation Food Search parking lot. Chef John Perkins invites contributors to bring canned and shelf-stable items to help feed the hungry. Bring by some goods, grab lunch from the truck and tour Operation Food Search to get involved. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Soulard Chili Festival @ Life for Life Academy
Taste and vote for your favorite chili, and then enjoy a beer and wine garden, craft booths, a children's area and entertainment by Lift for Life's jazz band, drum line and step team. $8 admission. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monsters of Beer @ The Stable
Try unlimited samples of 25 of the best high gravity and high alcohol ales and lagers from top craft brewers from all around the globe. Monsters of Beer tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance and $30 the door. For $45, get in with a VIP package including a commemorative glass, an early bird sampling of exclusive beers and appetizer buffet at 1 p.m. 2 to 5 p.m.
Grand Opening Party @ Perennial Artisan Ales

Deutsch Country Days @ Luxenhaus Farm, Marthasville, MO
This two-day fest brings to life an authentic living history of the pioneer Germans-French-Osage Tribe. Enjoy German food, learn how to basket weave and candle dip, take folk art classes and more at this historic German-American historic preservation. Order advance Deutsch Country Days tickets for $12.50 (adults and seniors). The cost for children ages 5-15 is $5.50, and children 5 and under get in free. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.
Pumpkinland @ Thies Farm and Greenhouse
Enjoy a wagon ride, a small pumpkin, a pumpkin and produce market, concessions and plenty of children's activities at Thies Farm through October 31. $3.50 for adults and $5.25-5.75 for children ages two to 14. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The Great Godfrey Corn Maze @ Robert E. Glazebrook Park
Explore the 7-acre corn maze cut into a cowboy shape and try to not get stuck in a dead-end or trap! $6 for adults, $4 for children ages six to 11, and free for children five and under. Open Fridays from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. till dusk.
