Continuing to catch up on some items from the end of last year and the beginning of this one...
- We learned in November that after being closed for a year, soul-food institution Delmonico's Diner (4909 Delmar Boulevard; 314-367-3333) had reopened under new ownership. Today, a trusted operative passes along word that the new owner's have decided on a new name: Buchanan's Restaurant.
- Feast reports that the new owners of Chesterfield sports bar and grill The Press Box (1095 Chesterfield Parkway, Chesterfield; 636-536-9440) plan to turn it into an upscale-dining establishment called the Scarecrow.
- And for those of you planning your dining-out schedule well in advance: Evan Benn of the Post-Dispatch reports that the upscale Chicago-based chain Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant will open next year (i.e., 2014) at the Town & Country Crossing shopping center at Clayton Road and 141. Cooper's Hawk bottles its own wine using grapes from west coast vineyards.
