Local food impresario Tim Mallett's Blue Water Grill is heavy on seafood, but there are sufficient choices to satisfy carnivores and vegetarians. Although both basic dishes and uses of salsas imply a Southwestern influence, enough Asian and other cross-cultural elements creep in that the style can't be pigeonholed. Enjoy "S.O.S." (shrimp, oysters, sushi) specials Wednesday-Friday nights from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday nights are "flying saucer" nights, with a special tapas menu, but the regular nightly menu includes an alternative selection of "small plates" that can be chosen as appetizers, light meals or in concert to form a full entrée suite.
