Eleven Eleven Mississippi

1111 Mississippi Ave.
St. Louis, MO 63104
314-241-9999
Website
This gorgeous and popular Lafayette Square restaurant is the perfect spot for dinner party sure to please everyone -- or a intimate dinner date for two. The restaurant bills itself as a “Wine Country Bistro,” and the menu features variations on casual Northern Italian and California fare. Wild boar is a house specialty, served in house-made ravioli as a starter and tossed with pappardelle for an entrée. The usual suspects are available -- steaks, lamb and honey-roasted duck breast in a tasty bourbon veal jus -- as well as uncommon dishes such as braised rabbit. The wine list is very strong.

It has been a while since I've eaten here, but I do remember it was good. I ate there for a lunch date and it was packed. Also a testament to how good a restaurant is. Only thing I hated about it was, our table was right on top of the table next to us. God forbid I have a big ass and need to squeeze through. Not very appetizing to the person eating at that table. This is the only thing they need to work on, and mayble the service could be more efficient. All in all-not bad.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. The mussels are to die for. Service is always wonderful.
