Built like a beautiful old ballroom -- engraved ceiling and all -- the Holmes Lounge functions as a Wash. U. study hall and cafeteria by day. By night the room is home to many performances by the university’s jazz and big bands and hosts the weekly "Jazz at Holmes" series each Thursday.
