Katie's Pizzeria Café

6611 Clayton Road Clayton, MO 63105 | Clayton | 314-727-8585

Location Description:

Forget St. Louis-style cracker crust. Katie's channels the spirit of the original thin-crust pizza: Naples. Crusts here are thin and crisp and retain a slight tenderness - simple and delicious, with just the right tang of salt. Ten different pizzas are available, each in only one size, roughly twelve inches in diameter (though in an artisanal touch, the pizzas are rarely perfectly round). Topping combinations are uncommon: fingerling potatoes, parsnips, pancetta and rosemary; sausage, leek and fontina; shrimp, pesto and pecorino. The essential Neapolitan pie, the margherita, is tastily rendered, with plump grape tomatoes providing a burst (literally) of verdant flavor.
