Nestled on a residential street in the Central West End, Kramer's Marionnette Theatre has delighted generations of St. Louis children with its wholesome puppet shows, and it continues to do so today, despite the fact that the marionettes are decidedly non-electronic and are operated by hand. In fact, the five shows each season likely appeal to little ones because the carefully crafted puppets have real, hand-painted faces that aren't obstructed by glowing screens. Made in the onsite workshop, each puppet takes around 1,500 hours to create -- and before each show, you can learn about the process, and you can even buy a puppet friend to bring home!
At Kramer's, when the lights go down and the music plays, the audience seems to come alive along with the puppets! One of the longest running on-site puppetry theatres in the U.S., Bob Kramer's Marionnettes has been enchanting audiences of all ages for more than 45 years.
