The area of the Delmar Loop east of Skinker is burgeoning with new club venues and restaurants. Miss Saigon now joins the fray, transplanting herself from a south-county strip mall to the increasingly bustling corner of Delmar Boulevard and Rosedale Avenue. The sleek, minimalist interior feels more like a cool loft apartment than your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The spring and summer rolls are plump and freshly rolled. Noodle bowls are the perfect meal-in-a-bowl and are a bargain at around $6. For those craving the strong flavors, don’t miss the catfish filet in a delicious sauce of caramelized sugar, fish sauce and bits of pork. While there’s nothing terribly out of the ordinary, the food is fresh-tasting and the service crisp. And you can sit outside on the corner, watching the Loop expand eastward.
