You can go to Guitar Center if you need a guitar or a bass, but for practically any other hand-held string instrument, head to Music Folk. The walls are covered in banjos, mandolins, guitars -- even a ukulele or two. The knowledgeable staff has a love of folk music, and the store often opens its doors for workshops and performances by local and national folk artists.
