Señor Pique

14424 Manchester Rd
Manchester, MO 63011
636-394-3455
Website
The strip-mall sprawl of suburban Manchester might not be where you'd expect to find some of the best Mexican food in St. Louis, but Señor Pique makes a convincing claim to the crown. The menu features numerous traditional dishes — simple tacos as flavorful as any from a Cherokee Street taquería, enchiladas in bittersweet, peppery mole sauce, cochinita pibil (pork tenderloin served wrapped in banana leaves) — each marked with an M to denote its "authentic Mexican" nature. Those seeking gringo-friendly fare can choose among nachos, fajitas and burritos. And everyone is likely to enjoy a round (or three) of margaritas.

The Inside Word on Señor Pique

    they have awesome cheese dip!

This isn't your average, run-of-the-mill, tex-mex restaurant. It's authentic mexican food, and it's absolutely fabulous. I always get the 'Tacos Al Pastor' (marinated pork and pineapple tacos). It's somewhat pricey. About $50-60 for two people. That's including alcoholic beverages and an appetizer, though. Try the 'Ceviche' as an appetizer. It's not as good as my fiances home-made Ceviche, but it's pretty good ; )

Some of the best mexican food around. Do yourself a favor and try the fish or shrimp tacos.
